Dance & Music Activities

At SBSS, the Dance & Music Sub-Committee plays a vital role in identifying, nurturing, and promoting students’ talents in music, singing, dancing, and cultural performance. The committee provides students with opportunities to develop their artistic skills, build confidence, and actively participate in various school and community events.

A Cultural Group comprising up to 15 students from Grades 6 to 9 is formed each academic session to support the committee in organizing and performing during school programs and special events. The tenure of the group and assigned responsibilities are governed by the school’s policies and guidelines.

The school regularly organizes singing, dancing, and cultural competitions as outlined in the academic calendar. Students are encouraged not only to participate in school-level events but also to represent the school in inter-school and external competitions. Records of all meetings, activities, and programs are systematically maintained by the committee.

To support students’ artistic development, SBSS has established a dedicated Dance and Music Room equipped for practice, rehearsal, and training sessions. Students receive regular opportunities to learn and improve their skills in dance, vocal music, rhythm, and stage performance under the guidance of teachers and instructors.

The committee actively coordinates and presents cultural programs during major festivals and special occasions such as Dashain, Tihar, Teej, Saraswati Puja, Annual Day Celebrations, Welcome Programs, Farewell Programs, and other significant school events. These programs help preserve and promote Nepalese cultural values while encouraging creativity and teamwork among students.

Students regularly participate in activities such as:

Singing the National Anthem and patriotic songs with harmonium and other musical instruments.

Welcome songs and cultural performances during school ceremonies.

Folk, traditional, and contemporary dance performances.

Vocal and instrumental music practice sessions.

Cultural presentations during annual functions and special celebrations.

Talent shows, music and dance competitions, and inter-school cultural events.

Through these activities, the Dance & Music Sub-Committee contributes significantly to the holistic development of students by fostering creativity, discipline, leadership, teamwork, cultural awareness, and self-expression in a vibrant and supportive learning environment.
